Forever

If you are reading this, we are sorry. Take whatever time you need — nothing here is on a timer and nothing goes on sale.

Choosing a photo

People often reach for the most recent photo, and sometimes that is not the right one. The photo that works best is usually the one where you can see their face clearly and it looks like them — the expression you would describe to someone who never met them. It does not need to be recent and it does not need to be good photography.

If the only clear photo you have is a screenshot or an old print, send it to us anyway. We will look at it ourselves and tell you honestly whether we can work with it before you order anything.

The two styles

Forever · Light. Soft window light from the left, warm background, no hard shadows. Calm rather than sombre.

Forever · Dusk. Lower light, deeper contrast, quiet shadows. For people who find the brighter version too cheerful.

Neither has costumes, props or gold. That is deliberate.

What you can add

  • A date range. Set beneath the portrait, in the same typeface as their name.
  • A dedication. Up to 40 characters. Most people use a single line rather than a sentence. “The best of us” lands harder than a paragraph.
  • A paw symbol. Optional, and genuinely optional — many people leave it off.
  • A printed dedication card. Included with the Forever bundle, for when the portrait is going to someone else.

If this is a gift

Grief has bad timing, and a parcel takes days. Tick “this is a gift” and we send you a reveal card as a PDF immediately, so you have something to hand over today. The portrait follows.

One piece of advice from experience: if you are giving this to someone who has just lost a pet, a short note about why you chose that particular photo matters more than the frame colour.

The ornament

The Forever edition of our ceramic ornament carries the same portrait, date range and dedication in a smaller form. Some people order the canvas for themselves and ornaments for the rest of the family.
